The Studio
Spotswood Studio style is fresh and classic and functions for the modern lifestyle. We embrace all good design, working with our clients to discern their style while guiding them through the design process. We encourage creative whimsy and honor history with the items used to decorate the home...that curious objet that brings a smile, a treasure found on vacation, the nostalgic heirloom from a cherished loved one. Taking our cues from the client, the final decorating scheme delivers a home that is personal and reflects those who inhabit it.

Jennifer Romm
Founder and Interior Designer

Jennifer grew up in southern California and is the third generation of her family to work in the home furnishings industry. “Since childhood, I’ve had a keen appreciation for history, art, and architecture. My father worked for storied furniture manufacturers and shared his knowledge of finely crafted, handmade furniture. While studying political science and French in college, I accompanied him 'just for fun' to the nearby High Point Furniture Markets. These experiences proved auspicious.”

Fast forward a few years when Jennifer’s self-decorated home garnered attention in a national publication, and she began receiving solicitations for design projects. Jennifer drew upon her industry knowledge and contacts in High Point and ventured into interior design. While rearing children, she worked on select projects as varied as media room design, renovations, and new builds.
Jennifer took a detour and design hiatus for several years to work in the legal profession, but a creative yearning brought her back to interior design. In 2020, she joined the team of tastemakers at SOUTH, a retail boutique and design studio in Chapel Hill, where she contributed to residential projects throughout the Triangle.
Jennifer’s latest endeavor is based out of Norfolk, Virginia where she is engaged in the restoration and decoration of a century old home in the historic Ghent neighborhood. Coming full circle, her design studio is located a short walk from where her grandfather sold furniture more than seventy years ago.

Jennifer finds creative inspiration and joy in travel, sharing good food with friends, outdoor adventures, museums, sports, and getting lost in a good book.
